Dr. Kathleen Greatrex ’80 was recently selected as one of Philadelphia Magazine’s Top Doctors for 2017. Greatrex currently serves on the Immaculata University Board of Trustees. Dr. Greatrex is President of Lourdes Imaging Associates, and serves as Chair of the Department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, as well as Division Chief of Breast Imaging for the Lourdes Health System.

From the May 2017 issue of Philadelphia Magazine:

Dr. Kathleen Greatrex’s personal cancer story led her to be one of the nation’s leading experts on breast imaging.

“I lost my mother and all of her sisters to cancer,” Dr. Greatrex says.  “Before my mom died she told me to help others so they don’t suffer like her.”

Dr. Greatrex carries out her mother’s wish by spending countless hours educating women about breast cancer and using the latest technology to find cancer early. She touts 3D mammography as a breakthrough technology that allows for earlier and better detection of breast cancer, especially for women with dense breasts or a family history of breast cancer.

“I tell people that cancer is just a word, not a sentence. The earlier we detect it, the better the chance you can survive it.”

Support IU

Support of Immaculata University makes a remarkable difference in the lives of all of our students. Students depend on the generous gifts of alumni and friends to support them as they embark on their journey towards achieving success.

Giving matters because it supports tomorrow’s leaders. Private philanthropic support better enables Immaculata University to educate students and fulfill the mission of the Sisters Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Giving matters because it benefits the giver, too. Whether you give as a way of saying “thank you”—or as a way to make your mark on-campus—your donation will not go unnoticed or unappreciated.
